The school is situated in its own grounds on the edge of the village of Harewood. It lies half way between Leeds and Harrogate on the A61 and benefits from its rural surroundings and its proximity to varied urban facilities. There is a Preparatory Department for girls aged 3-11.
It is run as a Christian foundation, but it welcomes pupils of all faiths and denominations. It specializes in girls' day school education and much importance is given to developing each individual's special strengths. Classes are small and girls are encouraged to achieve their full academic potential. Careers advice helps them to decide on their best course after school.
The curriculum allows a wide choice of subjects for study up to GCSE and A levels. Well equipped Science laboratories and an Arts Craft Design and Technology Centre provide excellent modern facilities. Each subject area has its own specialist rooms and there is a computer laboratory and a drama studio. Playing fields and tennis courts in the school grounds support Physical education, together with the gymnasium.
The formal curriculum is supplemented by choirs, instrumental music, camping, visits abroad and many clubs. A large number of girls work for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and take advantage of additional instrumental music and drama lessons.
Each year groups of 5th and 6th Year girls run companies through the Young Enterprise Scheme. There is an active Parents' Association and close contacts between the school and parents through reports, open days and discussion evenings about the girls' progress.
